When we talk to anyone looking to try CBD, we ALWAYS advise people to check that the products have been lab tested.
As the CBD industry is largely unregulated, there aren’t many rules about what passes for a ‘CBD product’. This means companies could sell you something called ‘CBD oil’ when the product contains no cannabidiol at all. Retailers could be selling products with CBD levels much lower than advertised or with higher levels of compounds like THC or heavy metal impurities.
Without proof of lab testing, you are essentially gambling with the contents of your CBD product – you’d have no idea whether or not the item is what it claims.
If a brand has invested in third party testing, this means that they have confidence in the quality of their products and are prepared to pay to prove it. This filters out inferior products because the testing would show that the products are flawed.
What is third party testing?
Third party testing simply means that an independent laboratory has tested the products and it wasn’t done in-house by the manufacturer.
What is a COA?
Once testing is complete, the independent laboratory can supply a Certificate of Analysis (COA) showing their findings. The certificate of analysis is a document issued by an accredited laboratory completely independent of the manufacturer. The document outlines the full composition of a product usually in the form of a list of all the compounds present and their quantity.
Where can I see HempWell’s COAs?
All of our lab testing is readily available on the website here.
We are proud to be transparent and traceable.
We grew the hemp ourselves which means we had full control over the seeds to use, organic faming practises, harvesting and CBD extraction. This level of control means we know exactly what is in our CBD and where it comes from. Our readily-available certificates of analysis, gimmick-free products, and honest communication mean that we are proud to be one of the UK’s most trusted CBD brands.
